DHS Art Shows
AP Art Day
Friday, January 26
9:00a.m. - 2:00p.m.
DHS Front Lobby
AP Art Day takes place in the main front corridor of the school, Auditorium Lobby and Bookstore Lobby. The purpose is to bring the AP visual art students to the staff and student body where they are available to be observed working and also be available to answer questions about their ideas and process. Each student will have work on display and will be working on current work in progress.
AP Art Day gives the AP students more recognition for their work and bring attention to the visual arts program before registration for classes for the following year. The AP students work as ambassadors to the program as well as having the opportunity to showcase their own work. There is such a variety of techniques and ideas every year with the students and I want to showcase their individual voices. For the entire year, as people traverse the hallways at DHS, they see work on display. AP Art Day gives people the chance to see who is behind the work they see and offers the opportunity to meet and talk with them about their work. This is also an opportunity to advertise for upcoming District 113 show at The Art Center.
AP Art Day is open to the entire staff and student population at the school, as well as students having the opportunity to invite their parents.
